Meet Abdullah Mahmud, Veteran SEO Consultant

I started in SEO doing link building for other people's agencies. 11+ years later most of my week is spent inside ecommerce stores: Shopify, WooCommerce, Magento and BigCommerce. The work is usually a technical audit first, then collection page structure, then links that move rankings for the money keywords.

I founded SEOSkit, an SEO agency based in the UK, and built Linkscope, a link building marketplace, after years of buying and vetting placements by hand. I also own ecommerce stores of my own, which means every method on this site was tested with my own money before it was recommended to a client.

Since 2025 a growing share of my work is AI search: getting stores cited inside Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT and Perplexity. The AI Overview case study shows what that looks like in practice.
